After the state-award winning Rama Rama Re – a film that, however, was a complete failure in the box office – filmmaker D Satya Prakash's second project was Ondalla Eradalla. Satya is still perplexed by the catastrophe that occurred. Ondalla Eradalla, a film about a 7-year-old boy's quest for his missing pet cow, premiered in cinemas alongside Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale, another 'children's film,' and experienced problems from the start, including no performances at all on Day 1.

Satya Prakash: Failure of Ondalla Eradalla broke my team's confidence 

“The entire team was crushed by the fact that no one saw the movie, especially considering how much labor went into producing it. The truth is that after Rama Rama Re, many individuals are unaware that I created a movie called Ondalla Eradalla. The utter failure of Ondalla Eradalla shattered the confidence of a group that demonstrated that movies with experimental topics like Rama Rama Re are also popular, Satya stated in a promotional interview for his upcoming film X&Y, which will be released in theaters on June 26.

The worst aspect is that Satya is unsure who is responsible for the catastrophe his picture experienced. "The problem wasn't distribution; there simply weren't any performances, and the explanations given were technical problems that didn't seem plausible." By the time we attempted to fight for the movie's due, my movie had been pulled from cinemas after Day 3 because Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale had arrived with a lot of buzz and had taken over the box office, he continues.

After all the praise and support he got for Rama Rama Re, Satya says that he was then told not to dabble with experimental cinema, once Ondalla Eradalla failed. Interestingly enough, Ondalla Eradalla went on to win two National Awards - Best Feature Film on National Integration and Best Child Artiste for Rohit Pandavapura. Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale was adjudged Best Children’s Film in the same year.
