Namritha MV, who appeared in web series like Meme Boys and Oru Kodai Murder Mystery, will star in the upcoming Tamil courtroom drama Sattamum Needhiyum, which will debut on ZEE5 (OTTplay Premium) on July 18. In an interview with OTTplay, Namritha MV discusses her role and the web series she worked on.
"After receiving a call from the crew, I met Soorya Prathap, the author of Sattamum Needhiyum. Namritha told me about the position and reminded me of seeing it in Meme Boys. I wasn't able to acquire an episodic breakup, but I thought the job was intriguing.
An interview with the star of Sattamum Needhiyum, Namritha MV:
The young actor portrays Aruna, a junior advocate, who is seen in the company of actor Saravanan, who plays an old advocate who takes on a significant case. "Thus far, I haven't been asked to play the role of an attorney. I was something more to the character with depth, not just someone's partner," she continued.

Namritha, who has previously produced a few web series, claims that they are more dynamic than movies. "There are more scenes, more room for character development, a broader performance, and variety. I also appreciate how web series provide a more comprehensive view of the plot itself, as opposed to a single perspective. According to Namritha, Sattamum Needhiyum is an underdog tale, and the series will focus on the main character who returns to defend himself in court. Aruna, her character, serves as the character's assistant.
"Many individuals' ultimate goal is a large screen."
Namritha, an actress, gives her opinion on the lack of shows and long-form storytelling in the south compared to movies. "For many people who start out, I think the ultimate goal is to be on the big screen. However, speaking from my perspective as an actor, I think that the process is the same regardless of where the product is being performed, be it in theaters or on a small screen..
The actor claims that the OTT industry offers more roles with author backing, especially since she had personally approached the show's author to resolve all of her questions. “I believe that Soorya sir also seized that creative space, refraining from incorporating any commercial components for its own sake. I used to question him on the set. In several instances throughout the novel, my character Aruna is unaware of what Sundara Moorthy (Saravanan's character) is doing and what he discovers. I thought it was preferable for Namritha to be ignorant of any areas that Aruna might not be familiar with, so that the uncertainty exists and may add some authenticity to the trade.
One lesson from Sattamum Needhiyum is that Namritha discovered she could play parts that are not the stereotypical love interest roles often written for women. “Aruna is different from what I am, so it really helped me to gain confidence in roles that are not my personality alone,” Namritha said.
