Samuel Goldwyn Films has released the first official trailer for Red Sonja, the much-anticipated fantasy action film based on the famous comic book heroine called the “She-Devil with a Sword.” This movie, directed by action veteran M.J. Bassett, puts a fresh spin on the fierce warrior for a new crowd while keeping the fire and spirit that made her a star in 1970s Marvel Comics.
Matilda Lutz stars as the title character. Red Sonja tells the story of a revenge-driven barbarian huntress who escapes slavery to lead a fight against a brutal tyrant trying to wipe out her people. Sonja is enslaved by the cruel overlord Draygan the Magnificent, played by Robert Sheehan. She then teams up with unlikely allies to face off against him and his ruthless bride, Dark Annisia.
