The soon-to-be-released spy thriller Salakaar will be available only on an OTT service. The series, starring Mouni Roy and Naveen Kasturia, will concentrate on real-world political events. The first teaser was eventually released by the producers on July 21 along with the OTT release date.

The creators announced the release date of Salakaar and unveiled a teaser. "The world knows him by many names," they wrote as a caption for the article. We only know him from one Salakaar Hotstar Special, streaming exclusively on JioHotstar from August 8th, 15th, to Salakaar.

The teaser for Salakaar suggests that the series draws influence from actual events. It is the tale of a well-known spy chief who uses his exceptional abilities and crucial intelligence to disarm rival forces and safeguard the country's security. During this process, he learns about the presence of a highly classified nuclear facility in Pakistan.

The story of an Indian spy is followed by Salakar throughout two timelines, 1978 and 2025, as he prepares the ground for a thrilling drama in which ancient adversaries reappear and the past threatens to obliterate the present. This series combines suspense and history, with intelligence as its most potent weapon. Naveen gives it his all to save his country, while Miuni Roy seems like a great fit for her important position.

Speaking about the series, Mouni said that joining Salakaar gave her the chance to experience a world that was unlike any she had ever encountered. The story's intensity and emotional depth led her to believe that she needed to challenge herself as an artist.

"The script's capacity to combine political tension with highly personal, intimate moments really captivated me. Each scenario demanded close attention to nuance and depth, which made the encounter extremely worthwhile. The shared vision of the group and the camaraderie on set made this trip unforgettable. I'm thrilled for the audience to get to know a different side of me and to be a part of a tale that is both fascinating and profound, she said.

Salakaar was a significant challenge, pushing Naveen in ways he had never experienced before, according to him. In his opinion, living with the constant threat of being a covert agent in a foreign nation while portraying a man who is prudent, sensible, and always cautious in terms of his character was a really unique experience.

"A single mistake might lead to capture or worse. It was my first experience putting things into practice, which made it really hard. Faruk Kabir's fervent vision was what really led me through this life-changing experience, he continued.

However, according to director Faruk Kabir, Salakaar is a hard-core spy thriller with a strong emotional center. The tale of a remarkable Indian spy is told here. It's about intelligence as a strategy and silence as a sacrifice, not simply about taking action for the sake of appearances. “With this series, I’m paying homage to the unsung geniuses who battled with not only bullets, but also brains,” he added.
