Even though Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor's Aashiqui 2 debuted with single digits on its first day, this is clearly the beginning of a new chapter in history. Nevertheless, it seems like Saiyaara could debut with double digits.

Wednesday, July 16, was the day that advance ticket purchases for Saiyaara began, and a record-breaking 90,000 tickets were sold out by 11 p.m. Not only is this a record for the newcomers, but it's also likely to break a lot of records, even for Mohit Suri's own movie, Aashiqui 2, which stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the main roles. Sacnilk reports that the film, which marks Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's Bollywood debut, has already made Rs. 4.41 crores. The movie is anticipated to sell more than 150,000 tickets before the release date, which would result in a double-digit debut, according to forecasts. In light of the current tendency in Box Office revenue, this is a remarkable achievement in and of itself.

Will Saiyaara's debut surpass that of Aashiqui 2 at the box office?

At least on the first day of its release, Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, seems set to surpass Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor's Aashiqui 2 at the Box Office receipts. The musical, which brought Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor into Bollywood (they had previously starred in other films that had failed at the box office), made Rs. 6.1 crore there.
