One of the most anticipated movies is Don 3. Don is the title of the enormously popular series' third installment. Since Farhan Akhtar revealed the film, it has dominated the news. A source close to the developments shared with Subhash K. Jha that Ranveer Singh, who replaced Shah Rukh Khan in the franchise, has faced a storm of online discussions for showing the courage to step into Shah Rukh's shoes. "Farhan and Ranveer mutually decided to lie low and let the heat die down. Ranveer also needed time to physically and mentally prepare for the role, which requires rigorous martial arts training," it added. 

The report also mentioned that the shoot will begin in January 2026, and the team is working to release it by December 2026.

Earlier, speaking to Raj Shamani, Farhan Akhtar addressed the discussion about why he chose to cast Ranveer for Don 3 instead of Shah Rukh Khan. He said that the kind of script they were writing, what he wanted to do with it, needed the next generation of actors and Ranveer was the perfect choice.

Mentioning Ranveer's carefree and full of energy vibes, Farhan further added, "Don requires a very different kind of performance from him. There is a certain holding everything inside that is needed for this character which I don't think he has done so I feel, for him also, it is a nice challenge to be able to do this. You will see him in a different way."

Vikrant Massey will play a significant part in Don 3 as well. He will play the role of a bad guy, according to reports. It will represent Ranveer and Vikrant's reunion following Dil Dhadakne Do. In 2013, they also shared screen space in Vikramaditya Motwane's Lootera.

Excel Entertainment, run by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, is responsible for producing Don 3. Ever since the movie was announced, fans have been eagerly anticipating exciting details.

Ranveer, on the other hand, will be seen in Dhurandhar. Aditya Dhar is the director of the spy thriller, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and other actors. The release date is December 5, 2025.
