In the middle of this, Rajkummar revealed that he is starring in a film about the life of Sourav Ganguly, a former Indian cricket player.

Finally, Rajkummar Rao disclosed to NDTV that he is portraying the former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly in his biography. "Let me also make it official - yes, I am playing him in his biopic," the National Award-winning actor said, "now that Dada (Sourav Ganguly) has already said it."

Since Sourav, who is affectionately known as Dada by his followers, hails from Kolkata, the movie will heavily feature the Bengali language. Patralekhaa, Rajkummar's wife, is a Bengali, and it's thanks to her that he can speak the language so well.

The Maalik actor said, "I am nervous... It's a huge responsibility, but it's going to be a lot of fun," when discussing the biopic further.

Earlier, Ganguly stated that Rajkummar is the perfect choice for his biopic, saying, "I'll help him with everything."

"Rajkummar has been locked for the film," Sourav Ganguly also remarked. I don't believe that anybody else could portray me any better than him. This biopic, which will focus on his transformation from the streets of Kolkata to the world of Indian cricket, is heavily influenced by the former Indian captain's creative input.

In the meantime, Sourav Ganguly was a very popular Indian cricketer who was well known for his aggressive left-handed hitting, his effective medium-pace bowling, and his outstanding leadership skills as captain. He is regarded as one of India's top ODI captains and batsmen, having led the Indian squad to become a powerful force in both Tests and ODIs. In addition to being a former cricketer, he is well known for hosting the reality quiz program Dadagiri.

Rajkummar will also be seen in Maalik. The movie, directed by Pulkit, is a gangster drama set in Allahabad in 1988. The story revolves around a man's rise through the underworld, where strong social themes are mixed with intense action, and themes of love, loyalty, and honor are explored. It will be released on July 11.
