Producer Points to L2 Empuraan as Root of CBFC Clash Over Janaki vs State of Kerala

Due to a disagreement over the film's title, Union Minister and actor Suresh Gopi's Janaki vs State of Kerala is still attempting to obtain clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). In the meantime, producer G Suresh Kumar has stepped in to provide his thoughts. In an interview with the media, as reported by Manorama Online, the filmmaker laid the blame for all of these problems at the feet of Prithviraj Sukumaran's popular Mohanlal-starrer L2 Empuraan.
Is the dispute between Janaki and the State of Kerala attributable to L2 Empuraan?
According to reports, producer Suresh stated to the media that the censor board became hyper-vigilant in response to the debate that erupted around L2 Empuraan after its debut. "The uproar prompted a recensoring of Empuraan. When the censor board grew more careful. The issue originated from there, which is why it exists.
He described the Kerala High Court, where the matter is now pending, as a "powerful institution" and stated, "The court looks whether the name should be mentioned or not." The court has complete discretion to intervene. I believe that the judgment will be positive. "Let the court take the decision after watching the film," he stated.
By the way, the parliament had debated the issue of the L2 Empuraan, as Suresh Gopi had discussed. The problems with his movie have not yet been discussed.

The debate over CBFC and JVSK
The producers J Phanindra Parameswaran and Sethuraman Nair Kankol petitioned the HC to contest the CBFC's alleged denial of certification for the movie due to the use of the name Janaki, which is a variation of Goddess Sita, in the title. The court stated last week, according to PTI, that it would watch the movie starring Suresh Gopi and Anupama Parameswaran in the major roles on July 5 at 10 a.m. before making a decision about whether or not the title should be changed. A hearing will take place on July 9.
The CBFC requested additional time to submit its response affidavit during the hearing. The court stated that it cannot unduly extend the period for submitting a response. Because the title of the main character is Janaki, the Board had been asked by the court the previous week to provide in writing the decision of its revising committee on the movie, which has not yet been licensed for public viewing. Janaki, a victim of assault, is the protagonist of the Pravin Narayanan-directed movie, which centers on her legal struggle against the government.
