In the forthcoming Tamil online series Good Wife, actor Priyamani, who most recently starred in the Malayalam movie Officer on Duty, will play the protagonist. On July 4, the web series is scheduled to debut on JioHotstar, according to the streamer's announcement. Additionally, a sort of teaser was made available.

With Tamil entertainment sphere yet to fully take on and explore the OTT and long-format space, a new web series is in the making. Titled Good Wife and starring Priyamani in the lead role, JioHotstar announced that the series will premiere on July 4.

The upcoming series is directed by actor-filmmaker Revathy and will available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Bengali and Marathi languages. The series which will be a combination of courtroom proceedings and family drama, is an adaptation of the American legal political drama The Good Wife. It was made in different languages, including in Hindi which starred Kajol and titled The Trial.

The trailer reveals the tension between a well-known pair, with the husband being involved in a controversy. In the meantime, we see the wife working hard to join a law firm and become an attorney. The trailer depicts the wife experiencing a range of emotions as the family's court case is also ongoing.

The ensemble also includes Aari Arjun, Sampath Raj, and others. The Tamil version was written by filmmaker Halitha Shameem. In the series, "Brought in new cases, infused new ideas for the show which explores the intricate dynamics between India's judiciary and politics, all through the lens of a strong woman," she said.

Priyamani, on the other hand, is also featured in the highly anticipated Tamil movie Jana Nayagan, which is starred by Vijay. H Vinoth is the director of the movie, which will be released on January 9, 2026. It is marketed as a remake of the Telugu movie Bhagavanth Kesari.
