Undoubtedly, KD – The Devil, starring Action Prince Dhruva Sarja and directed by Jogi and Jogayya fame Prem, is one of the most awaited Kannada movies of 2025. KD is said to be finished save the songs, which the crew is anticipated to wrap up soon. The movie was released in March 2024 and is set in the past. KD will undoubtedly be a 2025 film, even if the producers haven't said when it might be released. According to the most recent rumors, the movie may be released in theaters as soon as August.

KD unlikely in August and here's why

The rumor on social media over the past few days is that KD will be released in August, probably around the time of Ganesha Chaturthi. Because Ganesha occurs on August 27, the date being mentioned is after the 20th. A festival release would be ideal, but it seems highly unlikely because the second half of August will be too near to the theatrical debut of composer Arjun Janya's directorial debut, 45, which will be released on August 15.

Industry insiders say that KD will probably be released in the Dasara 2025 time frame. Arjun is the composer for KD, and Shivarajkumar, one of his leading males, has worked with Prem frequently (Jogi, Jogayyah, The Villain) and is said to have a key cameo in KD. Martin, Dhruva's most recent film, was released in theaters for Dasara 2024. The AP Arjun-directed film received widespread criticism for its subpar production, which the crew did not appreciate.

KD, which Prem introduced in Ek Love Ya, also features Reeshma Nanaiah, V Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, Yamuna Srinidhi, and many other cast members. The film was made by KVN Productions. According to reports, Prem is hiring Norah Fatehi for a song in KD after bringing Yana Gupta, Mallika Sherawat, and Sunny Leone to Kannada film with unique performances in his films Jogi, Ee Preethi Yeke Bhoomi Melide, and DK, respectively.
