Veteran filmmaker Maheshchandra, known for his versatile work across films like Preyasi Raave, Ayodhya Ramayya, and Red Alert, is ready with his latest directorial venture, "Pithapuramlo," subtitled “Ala Modalindi.” Having successfully completed shooting, the project is now immersed in its post-production phase, preparing for a theatrical release soon.
This latest offering, produced under the Mahesh Chandra Productions banner by Dundigalla Balakrishna, Akula Suresh Patel, and FM Murali (Godari Kittayya), promises a blend of youthful romance and deep-seated family emotions, anchored by a strong ensemble cast.
A Story Rooted in Family and Local Transformation
Director Maheshchandra shared insights into the film’s core theme, which is designed to resonate strongly with contemporary audiences. The narrative cleverly weaves together the love stories of three different couples, juxtaposing them with a critique on generational parenting.
“This is a love story mixed with family emotions. The film presents three couples' love stories and portrays the shortcomings in the upbringing by three fathers,” Maheshchandra explained. He believes the story’s themes of love and parental influence will allow audiences to “connect with the story in some way.”
Crucially, the film uses a specific geographical setting to enhance its narrative texture. The director highlighted the significance of the chosen location: “Everyone knows how much Pithapuram has transformed recently. The entire film is set against the backdrop of Pithapuram.” The team dedicated 28 days to shooting in Pithapuram and its surrounding areas, with additional schedules in Hyderabad and Goa.
Star Power and Technical Dedication
Pithapuramlo boasts a noteworthy cast featuring the seasoned comedic and character actor, 'Natakireeti' Dr. Rajendra Prasad, alongside popular names like Prudhviraj, Kedar Shankar, Manichandana, Jayavahini, and Annapurnamma. The mix of veteran actors and fresh faces, including Sunny Akhil, Virat, and Sai Praneeth, aims to appeal to a wide demographic.
The director emphasized his commitment to quality filmmaking inspired by industry legends. “Inspired by ‘Movie Mogul’ D. Ramanaidu garu, who gave me life as a director, I believed in the story and made this film without any wastage,” Maheshchandra stated, highlighting a disciplined approach to production.
The film features three songs, which the director confirmed have turned out "very well," shot across diverse locations including Goa, a set in Hyderabad, and Aditya College in Surampalem. The project features a collaborative creative team: the story is penned by Akula Suresh Patel, with story development and dialogues by Sriram Edoti. Technical support comes from Editor B. Satyanarayana and Music Director G.C. Krish.
With the shooting wrapped and post-production in full swing, the producers are gearing up to announce the official release date soon, promising audiences a relatable, emotional, and locally-rooted cinematic experience.
