Omorshongi is all set to hit the theatres. However, it is not the iconic Prosenjit Chatterjee film, but rather a new one. Sohini Sarkar and Vikram Chatterjee are pairing for the first time in cinema. The shooting ended. Vikram shared some moments of the shooting. The film is produced by Abhinab Ghosh and Dreams On Sale.

The film is Dibya Chatterjee’s directorial debut in the Bengali film industry, though he worked for a long time in Bollywood. He was the co-creator of the series Afsos. He said, “This is a feel-good film. All the characters are wonderful. But we are trying to mix dark humor with it, just like we did in Afsos.”

Vikram posted the photos from the film and wrote, ‘And here we wrap up our next, Omorshongi. Produced by @dreams_on_sale @ovinobo_ghosh, directed by the super talented @dibyachatterjeee shot by @abhimanyusengupta and co-starring @sohinisarkar01. Shooting for this was immensely hectic and an absolute pleasure at the same time. See you in the theatres, soon!”

The story revolves around Anurag and Joyee, played by Vikram and Sohini respectively. They are childhood friends and are engaged to be married. But some incidents happened that changed their lives. What will they do? Will the marriage take place? The film will answer those. The shooting took place in North and South Kolkata.

When the shooting started, Vikram shared his and Sohini’s looks on social media and wrote, ‘Gurudeb said that love is immortal and can’t be touched by death. Or it can be touched in reality! Regarding that undulating question, our next film, a wonderful magic-realistic love story, Jibansangee. I and Sohini Sarkar promised to be partners till death do us part.”

Vikram attracted attention both on television and in films. His work in films like Sohorer Ushnotomo Dine and Pariah was praised. Now he is coming with a new film.
