The news that Jambi will be the first Malayalam film to explore a zombie world have kept moviegoers thrilled. According to recent reports, Nivin Pauly will play the lead in this zombie movie, which has heightened the interest of the project.

Nivin Pauly to play lead in Jambi?

Since Nivin is already committed to several projects this year, the producers are said to be trying to rearrange his schedule so that he can film in Jambi. The arrangement is almost complete, but official verification is still pending. An official update is expected in the coming days. Additionally, the producers have provided no details on the rest of the ensemble. However, a well-known Malayalam actor was revealed to be the star of this highly anticipated production. According to previous accounts, Pearle Maaney would be a key figure in Jambi.

Jambi's teaser in Detective Ujjwalan

In Dhyan Sreenivasan's most recent film, Detective Ujjwalan, the trailer for this movie was shown as an after-credit sequence. The zombie world of Jambi is shown in the video. It depicts a velichappadu, who is supposed to serve as a channel between a god and its devotees, gazing menacingly at the night sky. He covers his body with vermilion red and turmeric powders, his eyes immediately become white, and then he mysteriously disappears into the air. The audience is soon faced with a terrifying, zombie-like beast staring them in the face.

This movie, directed by George Kora, is supported by Weekend Blockbusters. Jambi is the third film in the production company's universe. The recent release of Detective Ujjwalan backs Weekend Blockbusters' attempt to establish the first Malayalam cinematic universe. Another movie in this series is Tovino Thomas' Minnal Murali. Jambi was written by George Kora, Harikrishnan, and Nandu Manoj. In December 2024, the producers unveiled a motion teaser with the title. It will be released on the big screen in 2026.
