The trailer of Maareesan, the upcoming Tamil film starring actors Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu in the lead roles, was released by the makers on social media. The film is slated for a theatrical release on July 25.

We had earlier reported that actors Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil will be reuniting once again for the Tamil film Maareesan. The duo earlier shared the screen space in the 2023 film Maamannan, in which they played characters opposite to each other. In Maareesan, Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil will reunite for a thriller drama. The makers released the trailer of the film on social media on Monday.

The trailer opens with unsettling music, and then shows Fahadh Faasil's figure, who seems to be a bit of a shady character. He quickly encounters Vadivelu, who is carrying a lot of money, close to an ATM. We learn that Vadivelu is an Alzheimer's patient when Fahadh Faasil gives him a ride to Thiruvanamalai. As the police pursue a motorcycle, we see the pair sharing a lot of experiences. Fahadh Faasil seems to be trying to entice Vadivelu in order to steal his money, as we can see them sharing a lot of charming experiences together.

The movie is produced by RB Choudhary under Super Good Films and directed by Sudheesh Sankar, who is renowned for producing Malayalam television programs. On July 25, it will be released in theaters.

The movie also features well-known actors like Kovai Sarala, Vivek Prasanna, Sithara, PL Thenappan, Livingston, Renuka, Saravana Subbiah, Krishna, Haritha, and Telephone Raja, in addition to Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil. The post-theatrical streaming rights to Maareesan have been acquired by Netflix. The movie will be available for streaming following its theatrical release.

Plot of Maareesan revealed

Maareesan will have a slow-burn approach to a thriller drama. Vadivelu will portray an elderly man with failing memory who catches the attention of Fahadh Faasil's character, who is plotting to steal his money. Maareesan is about how the drama plays out between the two men, as the latter implies that he abandons him.

Yuvan Shankar Raja wrote the music for Maareesan, and Kalaiselvan Sivaji handled the camera while Sreejith Sarang did the editing. V Krishna Moorthy, who is also the creative director, wrote the tale, screenplay, and dialogues.
