Netflix has dropped the first teaser for Hostage, a new British action thriller mini-series set to start on August 21, 2025. Created and written by Matt Charman, and directed by Isabelle Sieb and Amy Neil, the show promises a tense story packed with political drama, survival, and difficult choices. The story follows British Prime Minister Abigail Dalton, played by Suranne Jones. Her world is shattered when her husband is kidnapped during a royal event. At the same time, the French President is blackmailed, triggering a dangerous chain of events that could threaten both countries. As pressure builds, the leaders face tough choices amid political conflicts and personal struggles. A larger plot also threatens to come to light, adding to the tension.
