Minmini, which was released in 2024, was directed by Halitha Shameem, the filmmaker behind films like Aelay and Sillu Karupati. The director had repeatedly referred to it as her dream project and had gone to great lengths to get the film made. Minmini was ultimately launched in August 2024 and is currently available to stream on OTTplay Premium and ZEE5. Minmini is the place to go if you're looking for a movie with a unique voice and narrative.

The movie's filming began in 2015 with a young cast, and the director waited seven long years for the cast to mature and resume production so that they could reprise their roles. The cast includes actors Esther Anil, Gaurav Kaalai, and Pravin Kishore. We watch two young people ride their bike to the mountains while Minmini discusses survivor's guilt.

The movie was produced in collaboration with Murali Krishnan by cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa, who also filmed it. The score was composed by Khatija Rahman. Its editor is Raymond Derrick Crasta.

Tamil OTT releases for this week

In the OTT arena, Tamil film is experiencing a vibrant weekend. Netflix and Aha Tamil have started streaming movies like Devayani's Nizharkudai and Suriya's Retro, respectively. There is also a love online series called Vaanil Thedinen. This year's blockbuster hit family drama movie Tourist Family will soon be available for streaming. From June 2 forward, the movie will be accessible on JioHotstar.
