Metro In Dino box office receipts day 3: The film, which stars an ensemble cast that includes Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and Ali Fazal, has been performing well at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the movie earned more than ₹16 crore during its first weekend.

The movie's third-day box office receipts were ₹6.67 crore, according to the portal. On July 4, the movie hit theaters.
With a total box office income of ₹16.17 crore, the movie had a great start to its opening weekend.
On its first day of release, the movie earned ₹3.5 crore, and on its second day, it experienced a notable increase, bringing in ₹6 crore—a 71.43% rise in revenue. In Dino, Metro saw an overall 39.91% Hindi occupancy on Sunday. When broken down, morning shows accounted for 15.98% of the audience, afternoon shows accounted for 46.62%, and evening shows accounted for 57.14%.
The movie's box office results are outperforming those of its spiritual precursor, Life... In A Metro, which is a romantic musical drama. On May 11, 2007, the movie debuted. Life... In A Metro, according to Sacnilk, had sales of 0.80 crore on its first day, 1.23 crore on its second day, and 1.45 crore on its third, totaling 3.48 crore.

Pritam composed the music for the movie, which is the spiritual sequel to Anurag Basu's 2007 smash Life... In A Metro. Anurag acknowledged in an interview that the late actor Irrfan Khan was the inspiration for this sequel.
The only main character from the original cast returning for the new film is Konkona Sen Sharma. Four new couples in various cities experience the highs and lows of love and relationships in the sequel.

According to the Hindustan Times review, the "first half takes time to find its rhythm because you're meeting this family of characters for the first time. However, with the aid of excellent casting, it's a soothing journey from start to finish.
