As many people are still anticipating the film's OTT release, Maaman, the 2025 Tamil film starring the comedian-turned-actor Soori in the main role, enjoyed a successful theatrical run. As previously stated, ZEE5 has acquired the streaming rights, and viewers may watch the movie on OTTplay Premium. According to reports, Maaman will begin streaming on OTT on July 5, even if the platform has not formally disclosed the streaming debut on OTT.

Maaman OTT release date:

Maaman is a family drama directed by filmmaker Prasanth Pandiyaraj, who had earlier made the critically acclaimed web series Vilangu. Maaman released in theatres on May 16, and had a good run, especially at theatres in small towns and villages, owing to its family sentiments.

While ZEE5 has bagged the OTT rights of the film, a release date is yet to be announced, given it has been more than a month since the film released. Reports suggest that the streaming platform has locked July 5 as release date. An official announcement on Maaman OTT release date is expected to be made soon.

Maaman is essentially a family drama between a man who is so fond of his sister’s son, that they form a strong emotional bond over years. This overtly attached relationship between the man and his nephew creates a problem about boundaries and privacy when the man gets married and his wife does not get enough time to spend with her husband, thanks to the child who constantly comes in between them. The film explores the themes of privacy and family boundaries.

Maaman cast and crew

The movie is produced by Lark Studios and directed by Prasanth Pandiyaraj in his debut partnership with Soori. In addition to Soori, the film features Aishwarya Lekshmi as Soori's wife, with the rest of the cast including performers such as Rajkiran, Swasika, Baba Baskar, and Master. Prageeth Sivan, Bala Saravanan, Jaya Prakash, Viji Chandrasekar, Geetha Kailasam, Chaya Devi, Nikhila Sankar, Kalaivani Bhaskar, Melvin, Trichy Ananthi, Savithri, Saratha, Tamilselvi, Rail Ravi, and Umesh Kanth are among the actors in the film.

The technical team comprises Dinesh Purushothaman, the filmmaker, Ganesh Siva, the editor, and Hesham Abdul Wahab, the composer.
