With two blockbuster releases, L2 Empuraan and Thudarum, Malayalam great Mohanlal has enjoyed a fantastic year at the movies this year. With the news of his upcoming project, L365, in which he will once more play the role of a police officer, Lalettan supporters now have even more cause to rejoice. Ashiq Usman, the producer of the picture, has offered a few bits of information about the intriguing endeavor, such as whether it is a comedy thriller.

The L365 of Mohanlal

Austin Dan Thomas is the director of the forthcoming Malayalam movie starring Mohanlal, which is currently going by the working title of L365. This film is supported by Ashiq Usman Productions' banner. Shortly after the project was revealed, Ashiq Usman expressed his enthusiasm for the Mohanlal-starrer in a recent interview with The Cue Studio.

Regarding the film's genre, Ashiq responded, "If you ask if this is a comedy film, it has everything. This is funny, and if you ask if it's a thriller, you might say so too," he said, adding that more could be stated at the time of publication.

Mohanlal in L365 as a police officer

The producer, who had previously supported movies like Vijay Superum Pournamiyum starring Asif Ali and Thallumaala starring Tovino Thomas, also stated that Mohanlal is playing a police role after a very long time.

Notably, Austin Dan Thomas, who has starred in Vijay Superum Pournamiyum and Thallumaala, makes his directorial debut with L365. The screenplay for the upcoming film was written by Retheesh Ravi. On July 8, Mohanlal announced the initiative and released the first poster. Additional information about the cast and crew is unknown.

L2 Empuraan, the eagerly anticipated sequel to the successful movie Lucifer, was Mohanlal's debut theatrical release of 2025. The second film in the Lucifer series, which also starred Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, and a number of other performers, was once again directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Tharun Moorthy directed his subsequent film, Thudarum. Prakash Varma, a well-known filmmaker, played the protagonist in the revenge thriller. On JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium, you can stream both Thudarum and L2 Empuraan.
