Kerala Crime Files Actor Arjun Radhakrishnan Calls Jhund His Dream-Come-True Moment

With movies like Pada, Ullozhukku, and Kannur Squad to his credit, Arjun Radhakrishnan has been gradually establishing a portfolio for himself in Malayalam cinema. Additionally, his recent effort marks his debut in the Malayalam web series market, even if his performances in these films were well received. One of the main parts in the second season of Kerala Crime Files, which was released on OTT a week ago, is played by Arjun. However, he previously portrayed a young APJ Abdul Kalam in Rocket Boys, thus this is not his first experience with online series.

He will never forget one of his first performing jobs, though— The sports drama Jhund, which is based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of the NGO Slum Soccer, features Arjun as Amitabh Bachchan's son. Even if his role was restricted, Arjun claims that working with Amitabh Bachchan was a dream come true for him, even though the movie wasn't a financial hit.

During an interview with Club FM about the response to his role as SI Noble in Kerala Crime Files 2, Arjun was questioned about his collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan. "Jhund was a project that came to me early on in my acting career," he stated. Everyone was thrilled when I told them I would be portraying Amitabh Bachchan's son. It was a dream come true for me.

He recalls that the entire cast and crew of Jhund, with the exception of Amitabh Bachchan, were novices. "As a result, there were few interactions; you could only see him from afar. During a break to change the lights, I had one conversation with him. To be honest, I didn't know what to ask him either when he sat next to me. Because everyone does that, I didn't want it to be a fanboy moment. We talked about a variety of topics, including architecture, a little bit about the United States, and other unrelated things," he stated.

However, throughout the production of Jhund, Arjun observed that Amitabh hardly ever sat in his caravan. Evidently, the crew was filming in extreme weather conditions, ranging from 43 to 35 degrees, and Amitabh would arrive on time and be ready for his scenes. He would frequently just sit in that heat and pull up a chair, sometimes without even the protection of an umbrella, rather than go back to his caravan.
