Keerthy Suresh's newest movie, Uppu Kappurambu, which went straight to Amazon Prime Video for an OTT release rather than a theatrical debut. That the movie will be available for streaming starting on July 4, 2025, has previously been covered by OTTplay. Well, the trailer was released in advance of the digital release by the producers, and it's rather amusing.

The story of Keerthy Suresh playing a government employee takes place in a made-up town called Uppu Kappurambu. The trailer highlights the town's local politics, and there are disagreements because there is only room for four burials in the neighborhood cemetery. To decide who gets those four spots in the burial site, all hell breaks loose, and a chaotic scenario is established.

Every character depicted in the film appears grounded and has received the attention it deserves. However, it's Keerthy Suresh, with her new nerdy appearance and sincere depiction of a government worker in disarray, that really shines. Vasanth Mariganti has written and produced Uppu Kappurambu, which has a novel plot.

There's plenty of room for humor in the trailer, which is filled with enjoyable moments. Suhas is back in a native role, and his relationship with Keerthy Suresh seems new and enjoyable. This humorous satire, which was produced by Ellanar Films, also features significant performances from Talluri Rameshwari, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Ravi Teja, Vishnu OI, Duvvasi Mohan, Sivannarayana, and Prabhavathi Varma.

By the looks of it, the makers have made a wise decision to release the film on OTT, as such native subjects are surely not meant for the big screen. For Suhas, this is a big film, as he has never worked with a star heroine to date in his career. Though the trailer has a few over-the-top moments, the backdrop and presentation are fun.
