The next original movie from JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium), Sarzameen, is set to be released on July 25, 2025. The family drama, which explores topics of family, duty, and personal sacrifice, features Kajol, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Additionally, this is Kayoze Irani's debut feature film as a director.

The plot is based on family and duty.

With the subject of national service as its backdrop, Sarzameen focuses on Prithviraj's portrayal of Vijay Menon, a soldier who is balancing his responsibilities as a parent and a soldier. Kajol portrays Meher, a mother whose resolve does not waver in the face of increasing emotional strain, bringing the role to life. Ibrahim portrays Harman, a troubled young man struggling with questions of allegiance and self-discovery.

Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta of Dharma Productions are the producers of Sarzameen, which is said to be a character-driven, emotionally resonant tale.

Irani Kayoze discusses his first time as a director.

Irani said in an interview about his first time as a director that the experience of working on Sarzameen had a profound impact on him that went beyond any professional standard he had previously set.

The movie marked a turning point in his life, he said. Because of that, he has matured significantly. The actor-director thinks that, even if others disagree, he is now more compassionate, his family is closer to him, and his feelings are stronger.

In spite of the difficulties on set, I am still grateful.

Despite the challenges he experienced during production, such as unfavorable weather and the strain of making his directorial debut, Irani said he was grateful for the initiative.

Despite challenges like the weather and the stress, he was grateful to be a part of something so important, even on the worst days. Regardless of how it has impacted his professional life, he is aware that it has changed his life. His hopes for the future, such as his family and the tales he hopes to pen, are the basis for a large portion of what he has presented in this picture.

Due to its universal themes of family ties, emotional struggles, and national identity, Sarzameen is likely to resonate with a large audience.

OTT release in several languages

From July 25, 2025, the movie will be available for streaming only on JioHotstar in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
