On May 9, Kaliyugam, which was written and directed by Pramodh Sundar, was released in theaters in Telugu and Tamil. The movie takes place in the future, in the year 2064 AD, when there is a clear division between the rich and the poor as people struggle to meet even their most fundamental necessities. With Shraddha Srinath and Kishore in the lead roles, the film features Iniyan Subramani, Harry, Asmal, Santhosh, Mani, Aarya Lekshmi, Moses, and Master Ronith in supporting roles.

The history of humanity, according to Kaliyugam, is one in which a wall is constructed to separate the rich from the poor, with the latter attempting to break through the barrier. The movie follows a man who manages to get into a safehouse stocked with plenty of necessities, even though a revolutionary group is fighting to gain access to the affluent side.

The movie is a dystopian thriller. The technical team, which includes cinematographer K Ramcharan and Nimz handling the editing, was directed by KS Ramakrishna and K Ramcharan. The score was composed by Dawn Vincent. At first, Kaliyugam received mixed reviews upon its release, although the lead actors' performances were praised.
