Following the release of Superman, James Gunn doesn't seem to be in the mood to take a vacation. The DC Studios chief has just hinted at the start of a new chapter, less than a week after the debut of the David Corenswet film. The first official glimpse of Supergirl was unveiled by him on Wednesday.
The first glimpse of Supergirl
In the first look poster, Mily Alcock, Woman of Tomorrow, is seen sipping a Slurpee while standing near a Superman poster. But the game has a little twist. The tagline has changed from "Look Up," as Superman would say, to "Look Out." In addition, upon closer inspection, there is also blood on her fingers, indicating that she has been up to some mischief behind the scenes. "Look Out. 2026," James Gunn captioned the poster.
In addition to Alcock, the movie features Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham.
Fan reactions
"I loved her cameo at the end," one fan wrote in response to the poster. She makes me laugh. "James Gunns making the movies we deserved in the early 2010s , but now feels better to be honest , thanks James I hope I get to meet you one day," another enthusiast said. "Ohhhhh I'm sooooo ready it's not even funny, IM LOOKING OUT!!" said one comment. "Oh wow. Can't wait!" said another.
James Gunn told Screen Rant in an interview, "She's a mess," when discussing the movie. She is a complete disaster. I mean, I believe she has had a very different experience from Superman as we learn. A far more challenging background. He had a wonderful upbringing with his loving and healthy parents. Her upbringing was also very different. And she's turned out to be different from her cousin.
James is currently enjoying the success of his movie Superman. David Corenswet plays the title character in the movie, which also features Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced. Critics from all over the world have lauded the movie, which is the first in Gunn's new DC Universe.
