Having begun his career in Malayalam films, Roshan Mathew has also established himself in Bollywood with films like Alia Bhatt's Darlings. The Malayalam film Ronth, in which the young actor played a police officer, was recently made available on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium. Roshan Mathew discusses portraying the inexperienced officer Dinnathan in the film, which is directed by filmmaker-writer Shahi Kabir and also features Dileesh Pothan, who is also a filmmaker, in an exclusive interview with OTTplay.

In the 2025 Malayalam movie Ronth, which received rave reviews when it first released, Roshan Mathew played one of the major characters. Roshan Mathew told OTTplay in a recent interview that being in Shahi Kabir's movie was a wonderful experience. "One of the most memorable and protracted journeys I've ever experienced has been with the movie Ronth. The journey is still going on because I've been a part of the film since almost the beginning of the project, and I have a sense that I'll be with it all the way to the conclusion, he said.

Roshan seems the more vulnerable of the two cops in the slow-burn cop drama, as they go about their patrol assignments. Shahi Kabir, a former police officer who has also written other cop films like Joseph and the recent Officer on Duty, is the director of the picture.

"The role was fantastic to perform. Shahi has a unique understanding of policing and the human aspects of being a police officer, and I believe in and appreciate his capacity as a filmmaker.

Dileesh Pothan plays the older, stern Yohannan in the movie.

"He has truly inspired me with the work he has done," Roshan says of his experience acting with him. In addition, I believe he is an excellent performer. In 2018, we collaborated on a film titled Moothon. This is also the second time we've collaborated. I am merely thankful for the opportunity I have had to work as a co-actor.

Having directed films like Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Dileesh Pothan is a well-known filmmaker as well. The movie, which features Fahadh Faasil as the protagonist, is accessible for streaming on JioHotstar through OTTplay Premium.

In addition to Dileesh Pothan's Am Ah and Thalavan, other noteworthy works by the performers, like Roshan's Hindi series Kankhajura and films Aanandam and Moothon, are also available on OTTplay Premium.
