Before they worked on Vikrant Rona, Kannada filmmaker Anup Bhandari had already presented the screenplay of Billa Ranga Baashaa to Kiccha Sudeep. With what Anup claims is the 35th version of the screenplay, the movie was ultimately released this year. Anup cannot afford to make any mistakes since it is a big undertaking with a bright future.

Despite the fact that Vikrant Rona, his most recent film, was a financial hit, the fact that its Rangitaranga origins were not made public before its release harmed its chances. This time, Anup is expanding the game by including individuals whose opinions he values, since he is not merely relying on his writing or team discussions to construct a world. "You only produce a movie once; there's no use going back and saying, 'Oh, I should have done it differently,'" he tells FDFS Kannada in an interview. "I am pre-empting that by involving other minds in the writing process."

This time, Anup, who dislikes table readings, has altered his strategy. As I believed that it would lessen the mystery element, no one else was aware of the whole tale during the production of Rangitaranga, with the exception of the hero Nirup Bhandari and the heroines. However, since high-budget movies are more about how things happen than what occurs, I have taken the complete opposite approach this time. Even if you are aware of the climax, you will still enjoy the movie because it is like that, according to Billa Ranga Baashaa.

The director states that he has presented the screenplay to as many individuals as possible. "Each time, the group would have 5 constants, who've been at every reading and at least 2-3 new people, including from the film industry. For instance, I've told it twice to Hemanth M Rao, because he's a fantastic author and I respect his opinions as a filmmaker. I have made changes in response to his input, and I have also taken feedback from ordinary audiences and included things that I believe are correct, Anup says.
