Earlier, the movie beat out Ajay Devgn's Raid 2 to claim the second position among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of the year. It has now surpassed even L2: Empuraan's life collection, which was formerly second only to Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava.

The movie Housefull 5, which debuted in theaters on June 6, had a successful opening. The movie's box office receipts increased consistently over time. The film has made ₹300 crore at the worldwide box office and ₹200 crore net in the Indian market, according to the producers. The picture has now eclipsed the box office earnings of Venkatesh's Sankranthiki Vasthunam ( ₹255 crore) and Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan ( ₹265.5 crore).

Akshay's Housefull 5 has now surpassed all other Indian films released in 2025 in terms of revenue, coming in second only to Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna's Chhaava, which earned ₹807.88 crore worldwide and ₹601.54 crore in India.

Although the film garnered love from audiences, with many referring to it as the finest in the series, it was also criticized for placing too much emphasis on the physical attractiveness of the female characters and not giving them enough depth.
