Earlier, we had reported that a Tamil movie named House Mates, starring Kaali Venkat, Darshan, and others, is now being produced. With House Mates set for a theatrical debut on August 1, the movie's producers released the trailer on social media on Thursday.

House Mates trailer out:

Tamil films which have been focussing on stories from middle-class life, is now coming up with House Mates. However, the twist is that the film will be a fantasy horror comedy. It stars Darshan, who was seen in films like Kanaa and Thunivu, in the lead role along with Kaali Venkat. The trailer of House Mates was released by the makers on social media on Thursday. Actors Arsha Chandini Baiju, Vinodini, Dheena, Abdool Lee, and Master Henrik are part of House Mates cast.

The trailer shows a middle-class man's dream to buy a house, which eventually happens. But as they move into their home, strange things begin to happen. The family sense a paranormal presence at their home, as we see another family also experiencing the same. The trailer takes a comic route as we see the house itself is a ghost. How the families are connected and what does the ghost want forms the rest of the story.

Sivakarthikeyan to present House Mates

House Mates will be presented by Sivakarthikeyan, who has supported high-quality movies through his company, Sivakarthikeyan Productions. "We watched it. We really enjoyed every aspect of it. After seeing House Mates, the production team stated, "The distinctive idea, the entertainment value, and this new team's honest attempt really stood out, and we knew we had to present it." The movie is set to debut in theaters on August 1.

The forthcoming horror comedy was written and directed by T. Raja Vel. Previously, he collaborated with filmmaker Ajay Gnanamuthu as co-director and was a member of the writing staff for Demonte Colony 2.
