Suhas is one of the most bankable actors in Telugu cinema and has been doing meaningful films for the last two years. But things went to another level when he signed a film titled Uppu Kappurambu with none other than Keerthy Suresh of Mahanati fame. 

Uppu Kappurambu OTT release date

The film is done with the shoot and was supposed to hit the screens in the second week of June. However, things changed at the last minute as the makers opted for a direct OTT release. 

Amazon Prime Video has bagged the digital rights to the film for a fancy price and will stream Uppu Kappurambu from July 4, 2025. A cute new poster of the film was released by Amazon, announcing the title and first look. 

Keerthy Suresh is seen as a village belle in this film, which is set in the small town of Chitti Jayapuram. Uppu Kappurambu has been produced by Radhika Lavu under the banner of Ellanar Films Pvt. Ltd., and Shatru of Pushpa fame will be seen in a key role in this film. 

Ani I.V. Sasi has directed the film, whereas Vasanth Maringanti has penned the story. Uppu Kappurambu is set in the 90s in a fictional village. It deals with the serious issue of burial infrastructure but is told in a satirical manner. 

This is the first time that Suhas has been paired with a top star like Keerthy Suresh, and he, in many of his interviews, has revealed that it is a dream-come-true moment to work with A-listers like Keerthy Suresh. 

Director Sasi on Uppu Kappurambu

Uppu Kappurambu, which is released on Prime Video, will reach a large audience, and Director Sasi further adds that he has been eager to create a social drama that tackles extremely serious subjects through humorous commentary.

Keerthy Suresh's most recent appearance was in Baby John, her Hindi debut, which was a major failure at the box office. She will appear in another deglam part, which she typically excels at.

Turning to Suhas, his movies perform well on OTT platforms, and now that he has partnered with Keerthy, Uppu Kappuram will give him a lot of opportunities. He is about to make his Tamil debut with the Mandaadi, a Suri film, soon.
