The Harry Potter reboot is now officially underway! The first image of actor Dominic McLaughlin dressed up as Harry Potter was posted on the official Instagram account of HBO Max on Monday! On the set of the show, the performer struck a stance with the clap board.

A First Look at Harry Potter

In the films based on the novels, actor Daniel Radcliffe made the role famous to a generation, and now Dominic McLaughin has huge shoes to fill. The image showed Dominic in costume, wearing the Hogwarts school uniform and the character's distinctive round spectacles. "First-years, step forward. The HBO Original Harry Potter series is now in production," the caption stated.

Many fans reacted enthusiastically in the comments section in response to the photo. "He looks great as Harry!" a supporter exclaimed. "Best of luck, little Harry," said a second admirer. Please shield him from all the haters. "Just do your best, little Harry!" one remark said. "DAMN, he really looks like Harry. Another supporter added, "I'm impressed," as a true potter enthusiast.

The Harry Potter reboot is modeled after J.K. Rowling's novels of the same title. Arabella Stanton will play Hermione Granger, while Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley. In the meantime, John Lithgow will portray Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu will play Minerva McGonagall, Janet McTeer will play Severus Snape, and Nick Frost will play Rubeus Hagrid.

The Harry Potter film series has J.K. Rowling as its executive producer. She claimed to collaborate closely with the authors. "I read the first two episodes of the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series and they are SO, SO, SO GOOD!" Rowling said on X, formerly Twitter. The premiere date of the Harry Potter series on HBO has not yet been revealed.
