Cinephiles were thrilled by the revelation of the Malayalam film Jambi, which promises to explore a zombie universe—a first for the language. George Kora is directing the film, and the production team has announced in their most recent update that the first-look teaser will be out on June 15, 2025.

Teaser for Jambi First Look

The Weekend Blockbusters are supporting the forthcoming Malayalam film Jambie. The producers announced on their social media that the first-look teaser would be released on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Detective Ujjwalan, featuring Dhyan Sreenivasan, was the latest film from Weekend Blockbusters, which is noteworthy. They have been working toward establishing the first cinematic universe in Malayalam, the Weekend Cinematic Universe, and Jambi may also be a part of it. Star-studded Bangalore Days, Tovino Thomas' Minnal Murali and RDX, and the Weekend Cinematic Universe are some of the well-known projects of Weekend Blockbusters. Pearle Maaney will also be in Jambi.

The screenplay for Jambi was written by George Kora, Harikrishnan, and Nandu Manoj. The remaining cast and crew details are unknown. The creators are anticipated to reveal more information with the first-look teaser releases. In December 2024, a motion teaser showing the title was released.

Minnal Murali and Detective Ujjwalan of Weekend Blockbusters

Detective Ujjwalan, directed by Rahul G and Indraneel Gopeekrishnan and led by Dhyan Sreenivasan, premiered in theaters on May 23, 2025, to positive and negative criticism. In the peaceful village of Plaachikkaavu, a local detective is determined to apprehend a mysterious person. Some people thought the movie was interesting, while others thought it was predictable.

However, Minnal Murali, starring Tovino Thomas and directed by Basil Joseph, gained greater notoriety when it was released directly on Netflix in December 2021. Minnal Murali, which features Tovino in the title role, tells the story of a desi superhero. After lightning strikes tailor Jaison, he acquires superhuman abilities.
