The theatrical release date for the next Malayalam movie, Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, has at last been announced by the production team. The film, which stars Kalyani Priyadarshan and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles, has been confirmed to be released in theaters on August 29.

The newest poster from the filmmakers states that the film will hit theaters on Onam 2025. The movie's producer, Ashiq Usman, had earlier stated that it would be released in May, but it was pushed back for unknown reasons. A teaser or trailer is expected in the days preceding the film's theatrical release.

Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, which is billed as a romantic comedy drama, is directed by Althaf Salim. The film's script was written by the director. Vinay Forrt, Lal, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Revathi are likely to play significant roles. The supporting cast of the movie, which started production in April 2024, also includes Suresh Krishna, Babu Antony, Johny Antony, and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy.

Malayalam films released during Onam in 2025

One of the other highly anticipated Malayalam movies set to be released in theaters for Onam is Hridayapoorvam by Mohanlal. The family entertainer, which also features key performances from Malavika Mohanan, Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita Madhavan Nair, Lalu Alex, and Janardhanan, will make its theatrical debut on August 28.

The movie "Chandra," which also stars Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead role, is another contender for an Onam release, according to Chapter One of Lokah. This film, which also features Naslen, is backed by Wayfarer Films, Dulquer Salmaan's production company. Dominic Arun is the director of this movie, which is anticipated to have cameo performances by Tovino Thomas and Dulquer Salmaan.

Additionally, Maine Pyar Kiya, starring Hridhu Haroon and Preity Mukhundhan, is set to be released around the holidays. Additionally, Balti, Shane Nigam's sports drama, will premiere at the same time.
