One of the most anticipated movies in Telugu cinema is Vishwambhara, which regrettably hasn't yet been given a release date. Following the teaser's debut, Chiranjeevi was very angry about the trolls' comments about the VFX, and he instructed the producers to rewrite the entire VFX section. This is also one of the main reasons why the movie's release was delayed.

Mouni Roy takes home a Telugu blockbuster.

More than two years have passed since the movie began filming, and several scenes have yet to be completed. To spice things up, the filmmakers have now enlisted Hindi actress Mouni Roy for a special performance. According to sources, she will be filming the item song in July 2025.

Despite the presence of several big stars, choosing Mouni Roy is an interesting move by the makers. Vassishta is directing the film, and Vishwambhara marks his second directorial venture after the success of Bimbisara with Kalyan Ram, which ended up being a smash hit.

MM Keeravani has composed the music for the film and has been paid a hefty amount for it. On the other hand, another major reason for the film’s delay is that no OTT platform has come forward to acquire the streaming rights.

Recently, OTT platforms have been setting release dates in Telugu film, but the pricing provided by the producers of Vishwambhara are said to have astonished Netflix and Amazon. Currently, the talks are still underway.

The release date of Vishwambhara is once again the subject of debate.

The producers are currently making every effort to negotiate a contract that would allow them to set a firm release date. As a Sankranthi special, we at OTTplay have previously reported that the producers intend to release Vishwambhara in the summer of 2026, after Chiranjeevi's new film with Anil Ravipudi is released on January 12, 2026.

Coming back to Mouni Roy, bagging a Chiranjeevi film is a big deal, and it will be interesting to see how she performs in the special number.
