Rathnan Prapancha creator Rohit Padaki directed Yuva Rajkumar's highly anticipated sophomore film, Ekka, which was produced by PRK Productions and KRG Studios. The picture was launched in November 2024, with the promise that it would be released in theaters on June 6, 2025. Although it seemed that everything was on track to meet this deadline for the longest time, there was no marketing material or radio silence from the creators as the date neared. The teaser released for Yuva's recent birthday also didn't specify a release date.

The picture, of course, fueled rumors that its release was being delayed, but the producers remained silent about it until today. Recently, the Ekka crew announced that the movie's release date has been moved to July 18, 2025, with the guarantee that they will keep it. A few weeks ago, OTTplay reported that Ekka was likely being pushed forward, and it became evident as other filmmakers began to concentrate on the date.

Ekka is said to be about one man’s fight as he gets pulled into the dark and gritty underworld of Bengaluru. Yuva is paired with Sampada Hulivana, while Sanjana Anand is also on board in a pivotal role. The film has Atul Kulkarni, Shruthi Krishna and Rahul Dev Shetty as well on the cast, while music is being handled by Charanraj.

The movie Yuva, which was helmed by Santhosh Ananddram, marked Yuva's debut in the film industry last year. Despite the support of Hombale Films, the picture failed to generate the enormous box office success that Yuva had anticipated. Yuva's late uncle Puneeth Rajkumar received two hits from Santhosh—Raajakumara and Yuvarathnaa—but the young actor was unable to replicate that success. Ekka, which some believe has a strong Jackie vibe, is anticipated to give his nascent career a boost.
