Following the confirmation from director Jeethu Joseph and lead actor Mohanlal that filming will begin in October 2025, Drishyam 3, which is undoubtedly one of the most eagerly awaited movies in Malayalam, has been making headlines for the past few days. The script and the many speculations surrounding the thriller movie's conclusion are the subject of much online debate. The story of the third section of Drishyam, as well as its potential similarities, such as a 'flaw,' to the first two sections, which were well received by viewers, were recently discussed by Jeethu Joseph.

The plot of Drishyam 3, according to Jeethu Joseph

Drishyam is a movie about a family, according to Jeethu Joseph, the director of the well-known Malayalam series' first two installments. Jeethu Joseph told the Cue Studio that the only issues are those that pique the interest of viewers.

"I have heard people saying there was lag in the first half of the first two parts," Jeethu Joseph continued. The lag could potentially occur in the last segment as well. With the story revolving around that family, including their issues and emotional moments.

Mohanlal’s Drishyam 1 and 2 plots

In Drishyam 1, which released in 2013, Mohanlal starred in the lead role of Georgekutty, an ordinary cable operator in a small hill town in Kerala. His simple yet happy life with wife and two daughters is disrupted when the IG’s son Varun threatens his elder daughter. Varun gets killed, and now Georgekutty has to ensure that the police do not trace the crime back to his family.

The events of the first film, which saw Georgekutty and his family elude the authorities, are covered six years later in Drishyam 2, which was released in 2021 on Prime Video. Police are still searching for hints and a potential body that may be used as evidence against Georgekutty. When an eyewitness offers to give testimony in return for cash, Georgekutty's tables turn.

The film begins by concentrating on family moments in both Drishyam 1 and 2, with the genuine action beginning only around the interval point. Jeethu Joseph has now stated that the third installment will follow a similar pattern. Drishyam 3 will be released in additional languages, including Hindi, much like its forerunners.
