In preparation for the movie's theatrical release on August 1, 2025, the producers of Dhadak 2 have formally stated that the trailer will be available this Friday. The first-look posters, which were released with the news, depicted the main characters Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in an ardent embrace.

Critically acclaimed Pariyerum Perumal is remade in Hindi.

The official Hindi version of the well-liked Tamil original Pariyerum Perumal is directed by Shazia Iqbal in this movie. The 2018 movie was praised for its compelling performances and realistic portrayal of caste prejudice and social inequality. The goal of Dhadak 2 is to bring the same realism and intensity to the Hindi mainstream.

The team has published posters with compelling messages. One edition states, "When surrender means death... fight!" while the Hindi version says, "Choose between dying and fighting." These taglines suggest a love tale defined by rebellion, strife, and a larger critique of society.

Change of tone from Dhadak

Unlike Dhadak (2018), which was a remake of Sairat and had a more romanticized tone, Dhadak 2 seems to be more realistic and carries the political and emotional weight of its Tamil source material. Vidhi, played by Triptii Dimri, is a lady trying to find her place in society, while Neelesh, played by Siddhant Chaturvedi, is a young man from an oppressed family.

Because the movie's certification procedure took longer than anticipated, the release date was pushed back from the middle of 2025. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) took exception to a number of caste-related terms and allusions in the original cut. The movie was ultimately given a U/A 16+ rating after several revisions that included the removal of scenes, modifications to disclaimers, and the muted usage of slurs. The industry was in an uproar about the delay, given the film's sensitive topic and the producers' commitment to maintaining the original's social satire.

A talented creative group

The screenplay and dialogues were written by Shazia Iqbal and Rahul Badwelkar. The movie is being produced by Karan Johar, Marijke deSouza, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Aroraa, Somen Mishra, Adar Poonawalla, Umesh Kumar Bansal, and Pragati Deshmukh.

The Netflix digital debut of Dhadak 2 will follow its August 1 theatrical release. But Friday's trailer launch will give us the first glimpse of this love tale, which is set against a social background.
