One of the most captivating and enjoyable Malayalam films in recent memory is Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey. The 2022 movie, which starred Basil Joseph and Darshana Rajendran, was praised for its unique depiction of a married couple who were at odds with each other in reality. With Tharun Bhascker and Eesha Rebba playing the key roles, the Telugu version of Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey has now been revealed. Will the Malayalam movie by Basil Joseph and Darshana Rajendran be well portrayed by the younger Telugu actors?

In Telugu, Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey

A Telugu version of the 2022 Malayalam film Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey is currently being made. The movie, which is titled Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi, stars Tharun Bhascker and Eesha Rebba. The Bollywood perfectionist Aamir Khan was unable to identify the ideal cast and had to abandon the idea of remaking Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey in Hindi. That alone illustrates how hard it is to choose the correct cast and replicate Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey in any language.

The challenge for the young Telugu actors in Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi is not little since Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey tells the tale of a married woman who chooses to retaliate after repeatedly being slapped by her husband.

Jaya, played by the well-known Malayalam actress Darshana Rajendran, begins as a naive woman with hopes but eventually endures persistent mistreatment before finally finding the courage to defend herself. Basil Joseph's portrayal of Rajesh, who seems to be a timid guy but has a terrible temper, is excellent.

In addition, the movie has a memorable sequence where Jaya and Rajesh engage in a brawl inside his home. In addition to being expertly choreographed, the sequence features a commentary in the booming voice of Shaiju Damodaran that is reminiscent of the ISL, which adds to the ambiance and enhances the entire cinematic experience.

Tharun Bhascker has a tough time filling Rajesh's shoes, who is portrayed in the original Malayalam film as being violent against his wife and then left licking his wounds when she retaliates in kind, if the Telugu producers are trying to replicate the characters and sequences. Even while displaying his patriarchal side, Tharun Bhascker will need to master the comedy moments in his role as Ambati Omkar Naidu. Unlike most male-dominated industries, there are no starry airs or heroes who get the last laugh. Therefore, Tharun's decision to accept the position in the first place is noteworthy.

Even Eesha Rebba will have to portray the innocent Prashanthi, who gains resilience when she realizes that nobody will support her. Not only is her plight ignored by the knight in shining armor, but even her family doesn't seem to care. In addition to carrying the film, Eesha will also need to learn the battle scenes, which were the best feature of the original Malayalam film.

We will find out for sure if Tharun Bhascker and Eesha have been able to do justice to Basil Joseph and Darshana Rajendran's performances in Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey when Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi is released on August 1, 2025.
