The countdown to Christmas just got more exciting for Telugu cinema fans with the launch of the trailer for the vibrant sports comedy, Patang. Set for a theatrical release on December 25, 2025, the film has already garnered immense confidence from industry veterans. Acclaimed director Deva Katta launched the trailer at a major event in Hyderabad and didn't hold back his praise, declaring that Patang has all the ingredients necessary for a blockbuster hit.

Deva Katta’s Enthusiastic Endorsement

Presenting the film under the prestigious Suresh Productions banner, producer Suresh Babu was reportedly impressed by the film’s final shape, a sentiment strongly echoed by Deva Katta. Speaking at the launch, Katta highlighted the film's energetic and entertaining feel.

“The trailer feels very energetic and entertaining,” Katta stated. “I felt super thrilled just watching the trailer. It has all the elements needed for a superhit and a blockbuster. Patang features all the ingredients that appeal to the youth—friendship, love, and great musical energy. All the artists appear with immense energy. I believe this film will definitely entertain audiences in theatres.”

Katta also shared a unique, warm connection with co-producer Nani Bandreddy, whose past work on Katta's project Autonagar Surya cemented a bond built on shared passion for cinema, further underscoring his personal support for the film.

A Unique Sports Comedy for the Youth

Directed by Praneeth Prattipati, Patang stars Preethi Pagadala, Vamssi Pujit, and Pranav Kaushik in lead roles, supported by a strong ensemble cast including Anu Hassan, S.P. Charan, Vadlamani Srinivas, and Sivanarayana. The film’s promotional content, including chartbuster songs and the newly launched trailer, promises a unique blend of comedy and competitive sports.

The film is jointly produced by Vijay Shekhar, Sampath Maka, Suresh Kothinti, and Naani Bandreddi in association with Ramya Vemulapati. Co-producer Ramya Vemulapati emphasized the film's universal appeal: “Everyone has nostalgic memories of kite flying competitions since childhood. This film will definitely provide a new experience for audiences. It offers a realistic cinematic feel.”

Actor Vamshi Poojith, who plays the "mass role" of 'Whisky,' claimed the final 30-minute kite competition episode featuring impressive VFX work will be the film’s major highlight. Debut actor Pranav Kaushik praised the producers for having the "guts and courage" to back a large-scale project with a mostly debutant cast.
