Following a mysterious message about being missing, Abhishek Bachchan has formally unveiled his upcoming film, Kaalidhar Laapata, which is a Z5 (OTTplay Premium) original. The movie is the Hindi adaptation of the well-received 2019 Tamil film K.D. (also known as KD Engira Karuppudurai), and it will debut on July 4, 2025.

Madhumita, who oversaw the first picture, is in charge of this one as well. In addition to Umesh KR Bansal and Pragati Deshmukh, Nikkhil Advani, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, Emmay Entertainment, and Zee Studios are supporting Kaalidhar Laapata.

Alongside the news, the first formal poster was unveiled, depicting Abhishek Bachchan in a way that we have never seen before: sitting on a tree next to Daivik Baghela, who plays a young boy, in a hard, older, and rugged look. The story has a lot of emotional complexity and a rural setting, as evidenced by the atmosphere and graphics. The ensemble also includes Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in a supporting role.

Plot overview of K.D.

The protagonist of K.D. is an 80-year-old man who is nearing the end of his life and runs away from his family after discovering that they are plotting to kill him. During this process, he meets an enthusiastic eight-year-old child, and the two of them embark on a journey that is full of surprises and novel experiences. Kaalidhar Laapata seems to have been able to retain the core of the original while modifying it for a Hindi-speaking audience.

This initiative is yet another means by which Z5 is bolstering its original Hindi movie repertoire. Kaalidhar Laapata, which is only available on the OTT platform, will start streaming on July 4.
