With high aspirations to succeed in the film industry, Venu and Murali make the decision to relocate to Madras. Nevertheless, destiny had other ideas for them and led them on an arduous journey. The main theme of the movie is how their friendship encourages them to view life positively and supports one another as they mature.

In Varshangalkku Shesham, Vineeth Sreenivasan skillfully showcases his ability to celebrate both friendship and cinema, leaving no detail untouched. With a well-written script and heartfelt performances, the director did everything in his power to bring his set of people together, but Pranav Mohanlal, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Nivin Pauly stole the show.

Young Venu and Murali meet by coincidence in the early nineties, and they instantly realise each other's gifts and ambitious aspirations. Murali is celebrated for his ability to enthral an audience with his music, while Venu is well known for his passion for theatre and film.

As their friendship grows stronger every day, they become each other's greatest pillar of support and move to Madras to pursue their dreams of pursuing a career in the film industry. But things were not as simple as they had anticipated, which caused peaks and valleys in their friendship.

Though it was only temporary, Venu was able to carve out a place for himself in the business. Murali, on the other hand, failed to showcase his talent and receive recognition for his brilliance. Years later, the duo takes an unlikely opportunity to accomplish their greatest ambition of collaborating. Whether or not chasing this dream will be easy and ultimately successful is the central question of the film.

Varshangalkku Shesham never fails to deliver the much-needed entertainment that theatregoers eagerly await this time of year, especially in light of the holiday season. The performances and the way Vineeth Sreenivasan has utilised each actor to the fullest extent possible to impress the audience unquestionably strengthen the film.

The men in the movie rule the narrative, particularly when it comes to Pranav and Dhyan's bromance, which grabs the limelight. The remaining actors provide enough entertaining elements to the movie without appearing to overly bore the audience when they show up or leave.

Vineeth has taken much time to give his brother Dhyan Sreenivasan a worthy comeback, bringing out the actor in him as he did in the latter's first film, Thira. Pranav Mohanlal consistently impresses audiences with his performances, making them want to see him on screen more often.

Aju Varghese plays a character that people adore watching him portray. The decision by the director to include the majority of the cast from his earlier movies does give the movie more appeal. Rebranding Shaan Rahman as an actor, for example, was a hilarious move.

Nonetheless, Nivin Pauly made a spectacular and humorous comeback in this movie. Despite only making an appearance in the second half of the film, the actor received applause in the theatre for his effortless comedic timing. The movie has its share of poignant moments that add to its endearing quality, in addition to its comedic and occasionally sardonic parts.

Similar to Vineeth's earlier films, this one heavily relies on music. The cinematic experience is elevated by Amrit Ramnath's compositions, particularly during the moving scenes. The unexpected cameos further enhance the film's element of surprise.

In the meantime, Varshangalkku Shesham gives little screen time to its female performers, which is somewhat understandable given the storyline. The movie has a slight lag that may divert viewers' attention for a while.

Vineeth Sreenivasan's Varshangalkku Shesham fully embraces all the entertaining elements that the filmmaker has maintained in his previous works. However, he chose to focus on friendship this time, which makes it a must-watch in theatres, serving as a reminder of some of the most well-known friendships in Malayalam cinema history.
