The Tale of Show Time

The plot is fairly straightforward. At 11 p.m., a loving family is having a wonderful time at their house, which does not sit well with Raja Ravindra's corrupt police officer character, who cautions Surya (Naveen Chandra) and his wife Shruthi (Kamakshi Bhaskarla), the young couple in the family. What appears to be a minor disagreement turns into a battle of egos. The film's plot centers around the question of who comes out on top in the verbal battle.

Review of Show Time

Madhan Dakshinamurthy is the author and director of Show Time. Naveen Chandra portrays the passionate young man in the film, which is set in a simple plot involving an egotistical police officer. The movie begins with a fascinating argument between a police officer and an ordinary citizen. The drama, ego concerns, and conversation immediately draw the reader in.

The film transforms into a crime drama as the protagonist, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, gets caught up in a crime incident, just as you believe the verbal conflict has ended. The audience is kept on the edge of their seats by the thought that the cat-and-mouse game will get worse. Unfortunately, the movie becomes dull because everyday crimes occur.

Nevertheless, the addition of a lawyer, played by VK Naresh, usually improves the situation. However, all of this is ruined by a dull script that has little to excite. The ones that are displayed are also predictable. The movie features several instances of scenes that are unnecessarily drawn out.

People like Naveen Chandra strive to make a difference, but unfortunately, they too are misplaced in transit. But in the last 20 minutes, the plot thickens as the audience is given a significant turn. The tale has some thrills, but you have to endure an excruciating hour and a half of boredom to appreciate them. The fundamental notion is sound, but the audience is turned off by the unnecessary dragging out of events.

As for the performances, Naveen Chandra is a versatile performer who can effortlessly adapt to any role. He portrays a fiery young man who irritates a merciless police officer after a strong performance in Eleven. The well-known actor does an excellent job of portraying all aspects of his character, whether it be his aggressiveness or his determination to see things go his way. All of his scenes with Raja Ravindra, particularly in the second half, are excellent.

In many movies, Raja Ravindra has portrayed a corrupt cop, but in Show Time, he gets his due and gives it his all. Senior actor Naresh excels in every position he performs, but he sometimes goes a little too far for no apparent cause. Naresh is excellent when he is serious about the movie and in command, but his body language is inappropriate for the remainder of the act.

The movie also has a comedic aspect that appears promising for a while, but it too seems noisy and unfocused on the course of events. Kamakshi Bhaskarla does a good job in her position and gives a fair performance.

The camerawork isn't fantastic, and the production values are acceptable. The beginning half of the movie suffers from subpar editing because it takes too long for the plot to develop. Show Time is a crime thriller with a simple premise that seems promising but is needlessly drawn out. The battle scenes between the protagonist and antagonist are well done, but the thrills are insignificant.

Judgment on Show Time

Show Time is a crime drama with some good acting overall. Although the clash of egos is positive, the thrills don't happen until the last 20 minutes. Those who like thrillers can give the movie a try if they ignore the drawn-out scenes and a few absurd comedic moments.
