Shashtipoorthi Story

Due to his honest nature, Sriram (Rupesh), a sincere public prosecutor, encounters difficulties. Janaki (Aakanksha Singh) enters his life with a land dispute, which he helps settle. When Sriram's parents (Rajendra Prasad and Archana) split up, things start to get complicated for them, and they intend to get married after falling in love. The tale centers around how he brings them back together just in time for their 60th wedding anniversary.

Veteran performers Rajendra Prasad and Archana star in the key roles of Shashtipoorthi, which is written and directed by Pawan Prabha. When one reaches sixty, life teaches one new lessons, as seen in the family drama. The director uses this framework to tell the tale of a couple who split up because of personal difficulties and their son's efforts to reunite them.

The movie does a good job of highlighting this aspect, and to increase its appeal, it also includes some commercial components via Aakanksha Singh's music. It's praiseworthy how societal issues are addressed without coming across as moralistic. But the narrative slows down at a certain point because of monotonous sequences.

However, there are still a few touching and captivating emotional moments between Rajendra Prasad and Archana. Additionally, the story incorporates the social message concerning elderly parents. Regrettably, the slow pace continues to impede the flow. If the script had been sharper and more focused, Shashtipoorthi would have had a greater effect.

Ilaiyaraaja's score is one of the film's greatest strengths. The movie benefits from his songs, which are nicely integrated into the plot. The second half's passionate tunes are especially noteworthy.

Rajendra Prasad, who is well-known for his roles in Samantakamani, Mr. Pellam, and Iddaru Pellala Muddula Police, is the leader in terms of performances. The veteran actor is particularly good in emotional moments, where his body language and line delivery shine, and he gives a sincere performance throughout. Archana is also outstanding in her return to Telugu movies after a lengthy hiatus. One of the film's major strengths is her rapport with Rajendra Prasad, which brings back fond memories.

Despite being comparatively inexperienced, Rupesh excels in his position. Singh's character is essential to the plot's development and complexity. She plays her character well and it is well written. The visuals are lovely, and the production values are excellent. The tale, though, has a bit of an outdated feel and might only appeal to a particular segment of the population.

The method by which social themes are expressed in film has evolved over time. The tale of Shashtipoorthi is somewhat traditional, but the way it is told gives it a modern vibe. Those who love sincere family dramas will find it appealing.

Judgment of Shashtipoorthi

Shashtipoorthi, overall, is an acceptable family drama with some redeeming qualities. Despite the plot feeling a bit old, the lead ensemble delivers touching performances.
