The plot of the film Kapata Nataka Sutradhari is as follows: Manoj (Murali Shankar), a mathematics instructor, goes on a bride hunt in faraway Raybag with a coworker, which turns into a complete circus when the latter participates in the ceremonies with the villagers at a historic temple that is only open for two days a year and is a thousand years old. A myth surrounding the temple is that worshipers who crawl beneath an elephant figure will have their desires fulfilled. Manoj's coworker gets in line, but he's not sure if he can fit between because of his chubby body. Enticed by onlookers, he takes the plunge, only to find himself trapped and unable to advance or turn back.

Initially, the villagers believe this is a chance to rescue this unfortunate man and fix the elephant's leg, but when he tells them his name—Mohammed Ismail (Dhiraj MV)—that idea goes up in flames.

Review of the film "Kapata Nataka Sutradhari": In spite of its relatively brief run-time, Kapata Nataka Sutradhari, the debut film by director Dhiraj MV, has a lot going on. The events that precede the moment Dhiraj becomes trapped under the statue are brief but powerful, and he does not spend much time establishing the central idea of his narrative. And then he produces his trump card: a goldmine that everyone, from the press to local politicians and law enforcement officers, is trying to use for their own advantage.

Muslim man imprisoned in a Hindu temple during a community dispute. The potential of a man dying is a TRP spinner for the media, while the cops hope to gain from making sure Ismail doesn't pass away while they are on duty. Meanwhile, a local thug with political aspirations will probably get brownie points with the villagers by protecting the sanctity of the temple. No one is particularly concerned about the guy at the center of it all since everyone has a stake in it.

Up until that point, everything is fine, with witty banter and witty exchanges. Dhiraj breaks out at the conclusion of this scenario, resulting in a whimper rather than a bang. The actor-filmmaker continues to believe in people despite the nation's divided political climate, which is dominated by religion. As wonderful as that sounds, I believe that ship has sailed a long time.

You can be certain that the only group with the confidence to tackle possibly controversial topics is the rookie squad if the issue that remains is about their capacity to handle a subject that should, ideally, encourage viewers to use their brains. The others are preoccupied with appealing to the audience.

The verdict of the movie Kapata Nataka Sutradhari: Although the conclusion is a little subdued and undoes most of what Dhiraj had been constructing up to that point, the filmmaker deserves praise for a good effort. Although this movie had to come to a firm conclusion, it skidded into a hazy area.
