Renowned celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, who has collaborated with celebrities like Kareena Kapoor, gave Hindustan Times some useful fitness and health tips in an interview that was published on June 1. With the number of Covid-19 cases on the rise once again throughout India, Rujuta provided helpful health and dietary tips to help people maintain their immunity and remain safe during this outbreak.

Rujuta's nutritional recommendations for maintaining good health during the COVID-19 wave are as follows:

"One of the simplest ways to reduce excess oil intake is simply to eat at home," Rujuta said while sharing her nutritional recommendations. "When we eat home-cooked food, we invariably eat a balanced meal."

She also stated that, despite being contagious, Covid-19's complications are frequently made worse by underlying metabolic disorders like diabetes and hypertension. Regardless of whether there is a pandemic or not, she claims that it is essential to maintain general health. "Whether there is Covid-19 or no Covid-19, looking after your health is of paramount importance," Rujuta stated.

Regarding preventative actions during the ongoing rise, she advises not to ignore the fundamentals, such as frequent hand washing, mask use when needed, and eating more freshly cooked meals at home. She also warned against overexercising, noting that it can temporarily reduce immunity.

The reasons why you should refrain from engaging in excessive physical activity

"People sometimes engage in what is known as dysfunctional exercise, in which they exercise only for the sake of it. They don't give a damn if it's truly making them fitter, stronger, or healthier, she said. Rujuta continued by saying that, even when they are feeling under the weather, some people persist with their demanding routines, which frequently leads to them being in a worse condition than before. The most important thing, she claims, is to pay attention to your body and stay within your boundaries.

Furthermore, she emphasized that the purpose of exercise should be to maintain health and fitness, rather than just to lose weight or burn calories.
