Initial indicators of Covid-19:

The following are some of the crucial warning signs that Dr. Subhashree Samantaray, associate consultant in infectious diseases at Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar, stressed:

a persistent cough

A painful throat

Vomiting and nausea

Conjunctivitis

Sometimes confusion

"Although the majority of people get better with home care, those with underlying health issues or weakened immune systems may see their symptoms worsen," she continued.

Safety measures to take:

The following safety recommendations were highlighted by Dr. Nikhil Modi, senior consultant in respiratory and critical care at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, and Dr. Samantaray:

Vaccination: Everyone older than six months should get vaccinated. Prioritize vaccination for high-risk populations, such as frontline workers, people with coexisting diseases, and those over 60.

Booster dose: If six months have passed since your previous dosage, talk to your doctor about a booster shot.

Be vigilant about symptoms: Keep an eye out for early indications. If any appear, isolate them right away.

Public health steps: Keep using social distancing, hand hygiene, and masks correctly, particularly in crowded areas.

Travel advice: The doctors advised that during this period, travel is often healthy. Take every safety measure, such wearing a face mask, practicing good hand hygiene, and avoiding crowded places. People with comorbidities may wish to postpone non-urgent travel until the COVID-19 scare is brought under control.
