The team, affectionately known as the 'Women in Blue,' paid a visit to the revered Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on Monday. This visit came just ahead of the second match in their ongoing five-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka.

Visakhapatnam, or Vizag, which is hosting the series, is not just a coastal city but also home to this ancient temple, a prominent pilgrimage centre in the region. The visit provided the players with a brief yet meaningful spiritual interlude amid their packed international schedule.

A strong contingent of the Indian squad was present for the prayers. Star players like vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, captain Harmanpreet Kaur, pace spearhead Renuka Singh, and dynamic opener Shafali Verma were among those who sought darshan (blessings). They were joined by other teammates, including Amarpreet Kaur, Vaishnavi Sharma, Kranti Gowd, and Sri Charani. Adding a unique touch to the occasion, two of the match officials, Umpires DS Lakshmi and Brinda Rathi, also accompanied the team to the temple.
