The blockbuster Pushpa, starring Allu Arjun, has made its international debut, and Wimbledon is now its most recent admirer. The renowned tennis competition paid a special tribute to Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic, taking inspiration from Sukumar's action smash Pushpa: The Rise in a rare fusion of film and sport.

In Pushpa style, Wimbledon honors Djokovic

Shortly before Djokovic's opening match at Wimbledon 2025 against France's Alexandre Muller, the tournament's official Instagram account released a post that had tennis enthusiasts all over the world excited. Djokovic's digital avatar was shown in the graphic, with his name written in Telugu rather than English, using the renowned Pushpa headline typeface. In keeping with the movie's now-iconic words, the caption said, "Rukega nahi aur jhukega bhi nahi."

Reactions from the audience

The Indian representation on Wimbledon's official Instagram page made it impossible for fans to remain composed. "How is the official Wimbledon page so much in love with India?" a delighted fan wondered. "Best," said another. Post. Ever. I'm overjoyed to be a Telugu tennis player. "Telugu caption wasn't enough, so he put it in the picture," wrote a third supporter. "A moment to be proud of our cinema!," another supporter wrote. "Wow, Wimbledon in Telugu," said a fifth commenter.

Regarding Pushpa

Mythri Movie Makers, in partnership with Muttamsetty Media, created Pushpa, which was directed by Sukumar and released in two installments: Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa: The Rule. In the movie, Allu Arjun plays Pushpa Raj, a laborer who makes his way up the ranks of the red sandalwood smuggling industry while at odds with a cruel police officer, portrayed by Fahadh Faasil. The movie also stars Rao Ramesh, Dhananjaya, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, and Rashmika Mandanna.

Pushpa: The Rise broke box office records by grossing more than ₹1,642 crore (about $190 million) globally, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. At the 69th National Film Awards, Allu Arjun took home the prize for Best Actor.
