Veteran celebrity and fashion photographer Jayesh Sheth recently offered a highly relatable and amusing anecdote, recounting a time when Shah Rukh, true to form, demonstrated his famed tardiness during the poster shoot for the 2000 film Josh.

Sleeping on the Job: Jayesh Sheth's Afternoon Ritual

Recalling the incident on The Pooja Bhatt Show, Jayesh Sheth detailed the morning of the shoot and the expected delays. "Shah Rukh was supposed to come at 10 o'clock in the morning. Then his secretary called and said that the shoot would be delayed and he would only come by 2 o'clock or so," Jayesh revealed.

The photographer's response was refreshingly honest, prioritizing his personal routine over the star's schedule. "I told her honestly that by that time I would be taking my afternoon nap. It has been my routine since childhood," he admitted. And that is precisely what transpired. When the superstar eventually arrived at the studio, Jayesh Sheth was indeed fast asleep, adhering to his long-standing afternoon ritual.

A Surprising Wake-Up Call from SRK

The most charming part of the story, however, involves Shah Rukh Khan's good-natured acceptance and respect for the photographer's routine. Instead of demanding that Jayesh be woken up immediately to begin the shoot, the star displayed unexpected courtesy.

Jayesh recounted the incredible moment: "So when he came at 2 o'clock, he told my assistant, ‘Let him take his nap, I’ll wake him up after I finish my makeup.’" Unaware of the star's arrival and preparation, Jayesh continued sleeping peacefully. "I didn’t even know when Shah Rukh Khan arrived, went to his makeup room, and got ready. Meanwhile, I was snoring. I thought he would only come by 3 p.m. and then get ready," he explained.

The photographer's nap was eventually interrupted not by an assistant, but by the star himself. "I heard Shah Rukh saying, ‘Mr. Sheth, can I take the liberty to wake you up?’ I was stunned to see him," Jayesh said. His shock was two-fold: the star had not only arrived but had also completely finished his preparation. “I thought, ‘Shah Rukh, you came? I didn’t know, and you’ve already finished your makeup too?’"
