This week, a brand-new Malayalam cooking series hit the internet. The show, Food Stories, which showcases a variety of delectable dishes from Kerala, is currently accessible on iStream. This 17-recipe food series is hosted by home baker and chef Priya Kolassery. These can also be watched on OTTplay Premium.

Every episode, lasting fifteen minutes, features a recipe that is generally simple enough for beginners to prepare using items they already have in the house. Prawns Stuffed Idiyappam (String Hoppers), Onakka Chemeen Pulinjika Curry (Dry Prawns Curry), and Chicken Pappadam are a few of the recipes. Among them are pickles made with dates and chilli, as well as some summertime favourites like chocolate rose milkshake, watermelon cooler and mango mastani that you can quickly prepare at home for your loved ones.

The show's creators have indicated that these episodes are a part of the first season, giving rise to the possibility of another set in the future. Unfortunately, the lack of English subtitles and the recipes being explained in Malayalam in the series make it difficult for non-Malayalis to fully comprehend them.

Other shows on iStream

The platform only hosts Malayalam content and features additional shows, like the travel series Amazing World, and vintage serials including Swantham Suryaputhri and Swarnamayooram. It also offers a couple of original programmes that delve into comedies, romance, cultural art forms, and animation genres. It streams episodes of Best of Bobanum Moliyum, Malayalis’ most favourite comic characters since 1970s.

Films to watch on iStream

On January 22, the Malayalam film Hodu was made available on this Malayalam digital platform. Moreover, iStream provides streaming access to well-known recent Malayalam films like Aanum Pennum, Kho-Kho, Perariyathavar, and Who.

These classic Malayalam movies— Kottayam Kunjachan, Thoovanathumbikal, Oru CBI Diarykurippu, Sukhamo Devi, and Sarvakalashala —are worth seeing on this well-liked OTT platform. Apart from the previously mentioned masterpieces, there are several highly regarded recent films, including Chuzhal and Sabaash Chandrabose, that have just been released on the portal.
