Mohanlal is having a marvellous 2025 with the back-to-back success of his films L2 Empuraan and Thudarum. The actor has now announced that his daughter, Vismaya Mohanlal, will be stepping into the industry as an actor. On Tuesday, Mohanlal took to his X account to reveal the first look poster of the film. 

Thudakkam announcement

Mohanlal shared the first look poster of the film and penned a note in the caption. It read, "Dear Mayakutty, may your "Thudakkam" be just the first step in a lifelong love affair with cinema. #Thudakkam Written and Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph and Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Aashirvad Cinemas #VismayaMohanlal."

In 1988, Mohanlal wed Suchitra, and the couple had two children: Vismaya and the actor Pranav. Pranav Mohanlal, Mohanlal's son, began his career as a kid actor with a tiny part in Onnaman (2002). In the 2022 release of the romantic drama Hridayam, he made his debut as the protagonist.

Thudarum was the last place Mohanlal was seen. It's a criminal thriller that was co-written by KR Sunil and directed by Tharun. M Renjith's Rejaputhra Visual Media is responsible for the film's production. Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Thomas Mathew, and Krishna Prabha all appear in supporting roles in the movie.

The tale follows the peaceful life of Shanmugham "Benz", a humble cab driver, until the theft of his cherished vehicle. To safeguard everything he loves, he is compelled to access an undiscovered aspect of himself. The Malayalam movie debuted on JioHotstar on May 30 after a positive reception at the box office.

The star will next be seen in Hridayapoorvam. The movie is scheduled to be released in August.
